PLM Maturity Definition - Standard Introduction
The PLMIG PLM Maturity Workshop hosted by PSA Peugeot Citroën in Paris at the end of 2006 showed that there is a future state of Full PLM Maturity that it should be possible to achieve. This shows that PLM does not have to be a "never-ending quest". It is possible to implement PLM fully and to achieve a dynamic but stable state. It depends not just on advances in PLM understanding, but also on collaboration and development of standards within the PLM industry. Nevertheless, Full PLM Maturity is possible and is therefore the end point that should be planned towards. Application
The concept of Full PLM Maturity changes a PLM implementation from a "never-ending journey" to something that can be planned towards. The PLM Maturity Definition should be kept in mind by the PLM team and embedded into an organisation's PLM Vision if the long-term implementation is ever to reach completion. Definition
